Team Teddington

Your Teddington Conservative Team is (from left to right) Simon Lamb, Elizabeth Foster and Richard Fitter

Elizabeth Foster - I’m an Ulster woman, born in Belfast, who moved to beautiful Teddington in 1978,
made my home here, and this April will have lived here for forty years. During this time I have become an active member of the Teddington Society, Royal British Legion, and Teddington Voluntary Care Group. I am also a Friend of Radnor Gardens and the York House Society.

I have also been an active member in the Conservative Party ever since I was six years old. I started delivering leaflets, am currently Deputy Chair (political), and hope to become one of your councillors in May.

Why did I decide to settle down in Teddington? It is a beautiful, thriving society with an immensely proud history. Just think about the Bushy Park, where General Eisenhower planned the decisive D-day landing. Or the Teddington Lock from where the brave men took their ships to play their part in the heroic Dunkirk evacuation.

We already have one of the best High Streets in all of Twickenham with many very fascinating shops, great schools, Library, and now a very fast growing Farmers Market open every Sunday. If elected, I pledge to support especially the small businesses in Teddington.

If you give me the chance to serve you as one of your Councillors, I also pledge to do my utmost to help the most vulnerable in our society, the children, the elderly, and the people with suffering mental health illness.

I would be honoured to serve you as your councillor making this fine ward even better.

Simon Lamb - I have lived in Teddington since 1991 so my 2 children have attended Collis and Teddington Schools - I was a Governor of Teddington School for 8 years, when the school decided to build a 6th Form and become an academy. I have experience of the Council since I was a councillor between 1998 and 2006, serving on the planning committee for the entire period. Richmond is a fantastic place to live and to raise a family and Teddington is a beautiful part of the borough. I would like to play my part in keeping Richmond the best borough in London.

Richard Fitter - I grew up in Cornwall and moved to London immediately after university. I have lived in Teddington for the past 3 years with my wife and daughter. I am a Chartered Accountant with a 15-year career working in finance and industry largely based in the energy and infrastructure sector.

I see being a councillor as one of the really effective ways in which to genuinely help the people who need it most and get things done on behalf of the community. As a cyclist, I feel strongly about making our roads safe and air clean e.g. preventing Heathrow expansion as well as general air quality and improved public transport. I feel passionately that services for children of all ages in the council should be protected and enhanced. "
