The Conservative Administration fully support the Council’s congratulations to local schools for the success of Richmond Borough students in this year’s provisional GCSE results. Schooling has always been an important aspect for the council to deliver on, local parents and their children have high aspirations. We cannot underestimate how hard the teaching staff in our borough have worked to help achieve this.
The opportunities, the fact that schools now have sixth forms has ensured local parents and children are engaged with our local schools. Added to this schools are now finding it easier to recruit teachers.
Cllr Gemma Curran, Richmond Council Shadow Cabinet Member for Schools, said:
“The Conservative group are proud that whilst in administration we implemented our sixth form policy. We hope the policy continues under the current administration, the fact our schools have gone from strength to strength and more local children are attending, shows this is a positive policy”
