Barnes Ward Conservative Team

Our Barnes Ward Team for this year's Borough Elections is Cllr Rita Palmer (left), Aphra Brandreth (centre) and Cllr Paul Hodgins (right)

We are delighted to introduce the newest member of Team Barnes, Aphra Brandreth, who is joining us and standing in the Borough Elections in May (you can read more about Aphra in the news article below). We are also very pleased to report that one of our local Councillors, Paul Hodgins, has recently become Leader of Richmond Council following the retirement of Lord True. With Cllr Rita Palmer being a former Mayor of the Borough, we have a very strong Team Barnes!

We are proud of our record locally. This includes supporting our Barnes high street areas with street scene uplift, 30 minutes free parking, and (matched by the BCA) investing in a superb town centre manager. We have invested in our local green spaces, and piloted schemes to make areas friendly for all, including those with dementia. We have invested in our pavements to improve local streets for pedestrians, and across the borough invested over £100m in our schools, including introducing 6th forms. We have strong partnerships with local community groups. The resident satisfaction and trust in the Council is at an all-time high. And all the while, we have controlled finances, delivering six years of Council tax freeze for residents.

But we know there is more to do! Over the coming months we’ll talk about our plans for the next four years. In the meantime, our Barnes Team will keep busy supporting local residents and campaigning on important issues to ensure that Barnes continues to be a strong and thriving community.

You can contact the Barnes team via email using teambarnes@richmondboroughconservatives.org.uk

Additionally, you can share your views on the local issues that matter to you by completing the Barnes Ward Survey
